Rain, Eggs, Bacon & Champagne
This was a pretty special one. Two of my closest friends were tying the knot and I was somehow going to be running proceedings – it’s a very surreal situation and I’m not ashamed of admitting I was nervous as hell. Standing in front of 50 people I’d grown up with, about to change the lives of two people I cared about very much and my legs were shaking and my voice was somehow breaking again.
This day started with a venue change, due to some unseasonal rain, but the bride and groom were typically unflappable. Tesse arrived at the hastily but beautifully decorated old country hall with her old man driving their exquisite vintage Volvo and she and Andrew strode down the aisle to Led Zeppelin’s Whole Lotta Love.
It was an amazing experience for me and somewhat selfishly I was so blown away by the whole thing, I can barely remember a lot of it, but I had some positive feedback and that was good enough for me. The ceremony was about 10am from memory and breakfast was served shortly after, then the sun came out and well… it was just a magical day.
