The Mild West: Weddings were never supposed to be this easy!
Interstate travelling to weddings is never a tiresome thing. When Dave & Thea said they were getting married, and it was happening on the West coast of Australia, I was excited. The Margaret River region is spectacular, the wines are abundant and these guys were planning on letting their hair down once our formalities were out of the way.
Dave had his brother and his best mates by his side as Thea came down the aisle with her dad, and despite his nervousness before the ceremony, as soon as she appeared it was like there was only the two of them standing in the garden at Rivendell Winery (and I’m pretty sure there were at least two occasions where Dave was in danger of either bursting into tears or passing out with sheer joy). They wrote their own vows for one another and it was a real heartstring-puller, this one.
It wasn’t long though before the adrenalin overtook and it was wine/beer/champagne time. The cool wine region air was defended away by effortlessly by singing and dancing bodies, until the last bus drew everyone back to their cosy quarters. It was a personally very rewarding ceremony for me and I’ve got to hand it Dave & Thea for organising a great day. They certainly did a good job with their photographer as well – check out http://offthemarket.com.au – the guys worked tirelessly all night and in perfect unison to capture so many great angles and moments. The images below are theirs.
